Details:
These photos, captured with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX300 camera between 19:56 and 19:59 UT, show the Sun setting behind a hill 4 km away as its mean horizontal coordinates were 3° and 294°, in altitude and azimuth, respectively. A 10-frame animation was created with PhotoScape, also used to reduce glare in the photos. It is interesting to note that an apparent concave depression appears amidst foreground trees as the Sun gets right behind them and intense diffracted sunlight overshadows their images. Also worth mentioning is the apparent path of the setting Sun, slightly inclined to the right (North) due to Rio`s 23° southern latitude.
