A selection of 2016 Mercury transit images taken near the Roque de los Muchachos, La Palma.
It was very windy and cold. I had to shelter my tripod behind the car and anchor it down!
I had hoped to capture the whole transit but the clouds rolled in around mid-transit (approx. 14:55 UT). Even the La Palma observatories were covered in clouds and I thought this was a cloud free zone!
Canon SX50 HS, 75x Zoom (50xOptical, 25xDigital, effective focal length 1800mm)
