Details:
Image was taken on May 10th, 2016 at 23:54 BST (22:54 UT). The clouds were clearly lit and bright against the dark sky. Over time, they were drifting slowly from West to East.

Apologies I have made a mistake there.The clouds were drifting from East to West, not West to East.

Great image, but these are not Noctilucent Clouds.
First of all, they appear in July, and they are much brighter. So, these are just cirrus clouds.

Moonlit cirrus is my opinion, not NLC. Still the scene it very nice!

Its actually a fairly easy mystery to solve, at 2300 UTC the sun is around 12.5 degrees below the horizon from, which a maximum elevation of sunlit noctilucent cloud of around 9 or 10 degrees. In this case the clouds have a much higher elevation. Thats why NLCs dont extend much into the dark stary skies.
