Details:
Due to the weather we had in those days in most of Europe, I think that the key to success for the next Transit of Mercury will be once again mobility. That's why I am training with a light weight equipment that I did not use since a while. It's an Orion Astroview refractor (120mm-f/5) and a SkyViewPro mount. It won't be high resolution but my intention is to make a stack of say 15 minutes spaced images to have the whole Transit in one. I found a nice location where the Sun will still be at a height a bit more than 6° above the horizon at the end of the Transit: Cape Griz-Nez, on the seashore facing Great Britain. Could the weather be cooperative at this nice landscape, otherwise I'll have to drive for a longer trip!
The image was shot with a Basler 1920-155um using Astrosolar ND3.6, Continuum and L filters. Process: AS!2 and Photoshop.
