333P passed within 13 arc min of NGC 1333 on Mar. 31 at 03h UT. 333P/LINEAR is a former asteroid 2007 VA85 on the retrograde orbit (i=132). NGC 1333 is an open cluster and emission nebula in Perseus close to Aries and Taurus border. It contains variable nebula Rusch-Eisenring-Spaeni (RESVN) illuminated by young stars HBC 340 and HBC 341. Another variable star DDE 42 was discovered there recently.
Fifteen images with 60-sec exposures were obtained with iTelescope.Net 20-inch T11 (0.51-m f/4.5 reflector + CCD) remotely from Mayhill, NM at 02:31-02:53 UT on 2016 Mar. 31. Then the images were combined by 3 with alignment by stars (5-frame animation) and by 7 tracking the comet motion (1 arc sec per minute in PA=330) for a two-frame animation. Image scale is 1.63 arc sec, FOV is 17x16 arc min. Elevation above the horizon was changing from 33 to 30 deg.
The third animation shows the comparison of visible (digitized BRI Palomar plates) and near-infrared (2MASS JHK) images of NGC 1333. Several interesting objects are marked.
