Details:
These are panoramas of the March 6, 2016 aurora display which reached storm levels and was seen across the northern U.S. and Europe. For us in Churchill Manitoba, the display began the evening with a sweeping and colourful (to the camera) arc of curtains across the southern sky through Orion and the winter seasonal constellations. What others were seeing to their north, and perhaps just barely, we were seeing high in our southern sky. The display did move north and spent most of the night dancing all over our sky. These are panoramas stitched from 7 to 12 segments, with each segment a 3 second exposure at ISO 3200 and at f/2 with the Sigma 20mm Art lens and Nikon D750. The location was the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, on the site of the old Churchill Rocket Range.
