The clouds finally parted last evening for a few hours of imaging here in western Montana. Imaging session was conducted from 7:30 to 9:45 pm MST. The inverted image identifies Polaris and the Comet in the star field and reveals some details in the comet's dust tail.
Comet Catalina is now fading as it rapidly exits our solar system.
Bye, bye Catalina - we wish you well as you enter interstellar space. Send us some more bright comets for 2016!
