So, where can I begin the story of taking photos about the comet Catalina? Maybe explaining the facts, the boundary conditions. The Carpathian Basin in East-Central Europe is more or less a safe territory if we consider the weather. Extreme weather fortunately is rare, but as it is a basin, the humidity, the clouds are frequent. As now, when I am writing this short story, the snow is falling. At the pre-dawn of this day the sky was clear, but as there was a strong humidity, the almost full Moon unfortunately blurred the whole sky. The temperature was -15 °C (+5 °F). No a New Mexico and nor a Canary Islands condition, but it was good for me to be in the chilly weather to take some photos about the comet. Technical details: SkyWatcher 200/1000 Newton reflector (8-inch, F/5) & EQ5 mount, Canon EOS 400D, 29x30 sec. exposure time and ISO1600.
