Details:
As I arrived home with my wife from a hungarian folk dance house, I noticed that the sky was starry. I was a bit tired but I knew the location of Comet Catalina and I knew too the fact, that at this time the comet was near the M101 galaxy, so my plan was to take photos about this beautiful pair. I had to sleep a few hours. I woke up at four o’clock and went into the garden to set up my equipment. While I was allowing my equipment cooling, I was sweeping the starry sky with a binocular. I visited my old friends as Orion Nebula, Beehive Cluster, etc. and naturally the Comet Catalina with the M101 galaxy. The Jupiter was shining with the Galilean moons below the Leo constellation. As my camera was taking photos about the comet, a bright meteor was scratching the sky from southwest to northeast. The trail was visible a few seconds. Otherwise the transparency was unfortunately no so good, but the seeing was acceptable. At the end of the photographing the Venus was rising shyly, the Jupiter was twinkling high and the Saturn and Mars were being between them lowly and quietly. The cocks began to crow. The dawn came. Technical details: Canon EOS 400D & Pentacon 4/200 telephoto lens at F/8 on EQ-5 mount, 34x60 sec. exposure time, ISO 1600. Processing by Iris software.
