Details:
This evening while the sun was setting through a thin bank of cloud near the horizon to the west of Mutare, a spectacular cloud shadow developed above it. The four photographs were taken between 18.15 and 18.19 LT using a hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in intelligent auto mode. Both sun and shadow appear to be behind the cloud but that is just a trick of perspective because the shadow is actually closer to the camera than the cloud. The cloud shadow is the inverse of the crepuscular rays which also developed as the sun passed behind the cloud.
