Details:
After seeing the magnificent photographs of polar stratospheric (nacreous) clouds recently posted on the Real Time Image Gallery, here for comparison are some ordinary iridescent clouds which formed this evening as the sun was setting through some lower level clouds to the west of Mutare. Not as bright due to the intense glare from the sun but in the second photograph taken at higher magnification they are nevertheless quite spectacular. Both shots were taken using a hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in intelligent auto mode.
