The aurora was barely detectable to the naked eye, occasionally we could see hints of it, but in long exposure photos it is very obvious.
A perfect end to the year for me, I have waited 15 years to see them, and we travelled back to the same spot where we saw our first aurora back in the early 2000's. Back then the aurora was strong enough that it was easy to see with the naked eye, even so, to see any aurora from my location, down in southern England, is a fantastic treat!
