Details:
I was driving home after waiting several hours for auroras to develop enough to be visible from my latitude (45 degrees.) Got alert that Kp was at 5 again. I pulled over and checked the Ovation model. Looked promising, so found a dark side road, looked north, and saw dim auroras. I decided to take a few shots before finishing trip home. About 10 shots in the fireball showed. I was elated just to have witnessed it. But when I looked to see if it was in the frame, my elation tripled! Details: Nikon D7100, Tokina 11-16 lens at 11mm, f2.8, iso 2000, 10s exposure.
