Taurid Meteor Falling Over Columbia River Gorge Oregon, from Womens Form State Park- Chanticleer Viewpoint - Corbett Oregon I started only with intensions to produce a modest mosaic panorama, in hopes to capture some auroral light but only saw a very dim ruddy maroon light toward the north ~ northeast horizon. Then as soon as I pointed the camera on the tripod to start a muti-photo panorama, toward the far eastern perspective of the distant Columbia River Gorge, Vista House, and Beacon Rock, turned on the shutter for a 20 second duration...zap! A surpising bright Taurid Meteor dropped right into the middle of my early seconds of the photo. Nice! Three versions- 1.) Closest close-up similar to naked eye view, 2.) Midsize crop about half size of the original 180 degree wide 6 image panorama 3.) The full 180 degree panorama. *Sony NEX5 with 18 ~ 55m lens at 18mm /3.5, ISO 1600, 20 sec exp. X 6, photo-stitched with Microsoft ICE, final post processing in Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop *[Commercial Airliner traced 3 times across and above meteor over several timed panorama photo frames.]
