Details:
As predicted, the northern lights were active from dusk 'till dawn last night across western Montana. You could even see some of that yellow and red through thick clouds along the horizon, sort of. Lots going on in this fisheye timelapse photo, looking straight up.
Cloudy auroras to the north (top left), color in the clouds from the approaching moonrise (bottom left), and a little light still in the western sky (top right). Just over the treetops (bottom right), two good-sized meteors cross the sky in parallel formation, six minutes apart. Also top right, red headlamp dots from a forgetful photographer (me).
