I am not sure I am in the right spot, but I found what I think might be a meteorite in NE Ohio while metal detecting. It fits everything I read. I broke it with a hammer to see why it was setting my detector off. This is just the smallest piece out of 4. The total size is about the size of a fist.

I also found a possible meteorite suspect with a metal detector in an area west of Cleveland, Ohio. Mine was metallic and looked just like a common iron meteorite. It was years ago and at the time someone in our group knew where to send it to have a piece cut off and tested. It wasnt a meteorite. I have seen many meteorite types.
they usually have a dark fusion crust on the outside.
