OCTOBER OUTING Beautiful auroras and a warm campfire light up the night south of the Alaska Range from midnight on October 11, 2015 until dawn on October 12. After wrestling with October clouds, rain & snow in Southcentral Alaska oh what a relief it was to get clear earth weather AND active space weather! GUARDIAN (photo 2) I danced all night long around this ancient Alaskan birch tree with the auroras pulsating overhead during the early morning hours of October 12, 2015. It was gnarly and reminded of the towering character Groot from the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. I think when I wasn’t looking it would dance… (Groot credit: Marvel Comics)
