Details:
I knew there was a chance of an aurora from keeping up with Spaceweather.com but had assumed that it would not be visible from here as the skies were overcast all day. Just as I was getting ready for bed, my wife and daughter shouted at me to grab my camera because there was a great aurora going on. I did, and managed to snap a few shots before it faded away. It was nice to also capture a meteorite in one of the shots.
