Details:
I had checked out northern sky earlier in the evening and hadn't seen much action, but not long after midnight I began to see some auroras coming to life, so I headed out with my gear to catch a few. The waning moon had risen and was casting quite a bit of light, but the auroras were bright enough to shine through the moonlight as well as a fair amount of fog on the lake at times. Shot with Pentax K-5 at ISO 3200, using a 10-17mm fisheye lens set to 10mm, f/3.5, as well and also used a 14mm lens at f/2.8. Exposures of 8 seconds and 10 seconds.
