Details:
Not being able to find my tripod, I leaned on the family car to achieve some stability and over the span of an hour took several photos. Initially, the skies were filled with thin layers of stratospheric clouds and aerosols which made for a few interesting first photographs (including a lunar halo), but it cleared up partially throughout the evening. Several minutes before the onset of the eclipse the moon appeared so bright it was difficult to look at. There also appeared to be a green aura around the moon the first few minutes into the eclipse, perhaps due to the optic effects of high altitude aerosols. Olympus EPL3.
