Details:
Yesterday and today we had a purple hue in the sky about twenty minutes before and after sunset. This evening the purple light was divided by wonderful crepuscular rays caused by clouds far away over the North Sea. It can only be seen when the tropospheric air is very clear. So the current conditions with winds blowing from the norwegian mountains producing a clean and dry airmass are just perfect for these appearances. It is caused by aerosols in the stratosphere and visible when the sun is about 2 to 6 degrees below the horizon.
