Details:
A beautiful sight Thursday morning as skies to the east cleared enough to reveal the waning Moon near Venus, at right, and dimmer red Mars, at left. I shot this scene from southern Alberta, using a 135mm telephoto on an iOptron SkyTracker to prevent trailing and to keep the objects motionless while I took a set of 5 exposures: at 8, 4, 2, 1, and 0.5 seconds for a high dynamic range stack of images to bring out the dark Earthshine on the dark side of the Moon while not blowing out the bright crescent too much.
