An amazing experience during Aurora Borealis observation nr. 11 in Salla-Kallunki! A sunny day was followed by a cold night with -2'C. Over the relatively warm lake waters was created a misty damp. All was very peaceful until 23:43h. Finnish time: Suddenly a very bright meteor/fireball felt down through the Auroras. The head was changing rapidly several colors (red, blue, purple, green)and leaving a very bright white tail behind. Happily I was installed with the camera in the right direction for a time lapse video serie of the auroras. Camera: Sony a77ii with Samyang 10mm lens. Settings: 3,2sec. - f2.8 - ISO 2500. As the meteor/fireball is visible at 3 pictures the total appearance time has been probably around 7 seconds! Of course there is much more to see on the pictures than what was seen during these unexpected and exciting seconds of the impact. Look what is happening around the meteor/fireball: are the auroras taken out of their basic structure, or caused this meteor/fireball its own aurora??? A wonderful experience in the middle of the night, In the Middle of Nowhere, called Salla!

Sorry for inconvenience marcchip, the date mistake was a result of mixing up 02.09. with 09.02 in the notification as I am used to 02.09.2015 for 2nd of September 2015.
It costed you also 2 attempts... ;-)
The right date was indeed 2nd of September 2015 and the time was 23:43h.
