Details:
AR2403 might be starting to decay, but it is still an impressive sight through backyard solar telescopes. This is an image captured in the light of hydrogen alpha at 656.28nm on a modest 60mm scope (500mm focal length)to capture the whole disk in one shot. Also shown are large filaments and prominences indicating other features of solar activity.
