Details:
Venus 4 days from inferior solar conjunction, phase 1.3%.Taken 8/11/15 at 4:38pm local time. This was the best shot I was able to take due to haze, smoke and clouds and having to move the scope to keep Venus in view. The picture does not give justice to the visual view though. Taken with a Canon T3i, through a Celestron Cr-150-HD6 at f/8. ISO 100, 1/1250 exposure. Venus was found by first aligning on the sun (w/ filter), set the setting circles, wait for the Sun to move so the scope was in shadow, then went to the coordinates for Venus. I also observed Venus yesterday 8/13 but was not able to get another shot. I was using a building and trees to block the sun.
