Details:
Traveling through Michigan, I stayed overnight in St. Ignace, the town on the north end of the Mackinac Bridge. I heard there was a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights that evening so I went out to see if I could capture them with my camera for the very first time. No aurora, but I was able to capture the Milky Way over the bridge with a bonus shooting star (I think). I used my Canon 5D Mark III with Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 II L lens at f/2.8, ISO 2500, and a 15 second exposure.
