Details:
This was my view of the close conjunction of the Moon and Venus on Saturday, July 18, from southern Alberta at a latitude of 50° N, placing the worlds low in our western twilight. I caught them before encroaching clouds covered them, but while the clouds were adding spectacular sky colours. Jupiter is also visible, but faintly at upper right. Venus and the Moon made for a beautiful pair of crescents in binoculars. No hope of seeing Comet PanSTARRS at this latitude! I shot this overlooking the waters of Little Fish Lake in southern Alberta.
