Details:
After driving for 1 ½ hours we managed to find a west-facing spot, away from city light pollution, sheltered from the buffeting westerly winds and with a clear horizon – quite a rare combination of environmental requirements! We were rewarded with a lovely sunset, a slender crescent Moon, the brilliant Venus with Jupiter in attendance and a very dim Comet Panstarrs C/2014 Q1. Not to mention the occasional aeroplane trail. Friday, July 17th, 30 sec and 5 sec frames with a Canon 5D Mk III and 50mm F1.4 lens. ISO400 at F5.6. Cheers Dennis
