Details:
Headed out with a friend for some astrophotography using my NEQ6 mount (which died during polar alignment …), far enough from Christchurch that we could enjoy a beautiful crisp cold winter night. The skies were so good that we could see the zodiacal light, but we also got an idea for how bright Venus can be : as soon as it went under the horizon, the whole place turned pitch black !
