Details:
It was one of the best displays of southern lights at McMurdo anyone has seen in years. The show lasted over an hour. They were extremely vivid and active; it was hard to keep taking photos. It was also very cold (-29C, with ~ -45C wind-chill). I have several more I took that night & much better quality if you're interested.
