Details:
Once in a while now, some 15 minutes after sunset, the western sky suddenly acquires an intense metallic yellowish cream glow. Then, when I point my camera to it (with its vivid color mode activated), I can also clearly see a pink arch extending over it, an indication that I may indeed be witnessing another volcanic sunset, possibly due mostly to passing Calbuco aerosols, that are now much dispersed, forming a belt that encircles the southern hemisphere. This happened on June 4, 5 and 6 in Saquarema, a calm and pleasant beach resort, located 100 km east of downtown Rio de Janeiro. The shots were taken with a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS camera at 20:35 UT. The sky was clear and transparency and stability of the atmosphere were both excellent. Bright Venus is seen in some photos two days before its greatest eastern elongation.
