Details:
This evening a new crescent moon became visible near the horizon as a purplish twilight arch from another brightly colored volcanic sunset slowly faded in the western sky over Mutare. Venus and some bright stars can be seen in the dark sky above. Picture taken at 18.10 LT with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 compact camera in wide-angle night scenery mode.

Hello Pipones! Many thanks for the compliment and encouragement to post. We have a wonderful climate here in Zimbabwe with beautiful clear skies especially in May. I am very lucky to have a house on a hill with magnificent views to the south and west so have been able to capture many spectacular sky pictures. I shall continue to send these to Spaceweather for people to enjoy.
