Details:
Solar viewing at the moment just keeps getting more exciting and thrilling day after day, and this morning, not only were there two huge prominences on the eastern limb there was also another gigantic looping prominence on the western limb…but I had to be very quick to capture it as it was fading very fast! I’m being a bit fanciful here…but if you look at the shape of the prominence to the top of my image (eastern limb) you will see that it looks like a dog trotting off for a walk on the solar rim with his stick :-) The images were taken with a Lunt 80mm solar telescope and a Canon 700D camera fitted with a 2x and 3x barlow lens. Images were stacked in RegiStack6 and combined in PS. The monochrome image is a single shot and not a composite and shos the full solar disc today.
