Ashes from Chile`s Calbuco Volcano caused Rio`s western sky to acquire unusual colors during today`s evening twilight. The first photo shows red-magenta plumes from Calbuco, Venus and Orion (left) and the Moon above Jupiter (right). The second photo shows Venus (extreme right) and aerosol clouds (left). The third photo shows Jupiter and the Moon surrounded by a purple-blue sky background. The last photo shows Venus and the unusual color gradation of the surrounding sky. Photos were taken around 21:00 UT with a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS camera.
