Happy Birthday to ME! I work nights and it's not easy being able to photograph the Northern Lights the past couple years. Lone and behold, I was able to get my birthday off work and the Auroras dip far enough south ( Marshfield WI ) for me to enjoy them in all their beauty once again!! They peaked for me at 1:25am CST, 2:25am CST, 3:25 CST and again at you guessed it = 4:25am CST. Perfect one hour intervals and each time a different "display" of beams, curtains, waves, flickering shimmering and dancing. Started the night with Green glow behind a wall of clouds but each "display" they got higher in the sky for better viewing. Earlier in the night they were only at about 30 degrees off the horizon. But the 3:25 and 4:25 show were way up there, reaching high into the sky at about 80 degrees off the horizon. What a great night, even if it WAS 36f in Central WI!!
