Details:
After watching the April 4 lunar eclipse from the south eastern corner of the Salton Sea in California we were we awarded a view of a beautiful solar pillar and half halo. The plume of "smoke" at the horizon is steam from one of the geothermal power plants. Camera is Nikon Df with 14-24 mm lens, cropped to level the horizon, remove some foreground, and to remove a large dust spot.
