Details:
On the evening of the total solar eclipse in Spitsbergen around 21:30 a very impressive Aurora Borealis was visible. At that time the Sun was shining 9 degrees below the horizon -- it was nautical twilight then. The Adventtoppen mountain (786 meter) is illuminated by the Western-Northwestern horizon from the back, the difference of brightness of the mountain sides is obvious. The foreground is painted orange by the lights of the nearby Longyearbyen Airport. Photo details: Canon EOS 5D Mark II + Samyang EF 24/1.4 6sec, ISO320, F?
