Details:
Here's a shot of the March 20th, 2015 total solar eclipse. For this I was located on the Fred Olsen ship MS Boudicca. The morning started fairly bad with a raging blizzard on deck! Our ship's Captain did a fantastic job of getting us out the snow and into a patch of broken cloud. We saw first contact and the Moon slowly moving across the Sun's disc over the minutes that followed. Then a large cloud threatened to block totality but as luck would have it clear skies occurred at the critical moment. This is a photograph of the 2nd contact diamond ring which also shows the beautiful prominences that were present during this eclipse.
