Details:
Chasing the Aurora last night (Feb. 23) near Craig, MT, and while shooting a 20sec exposure I turned around to look at the moon. To the east I caught something and realized this very slow moving meteor was coming across my field of view. Had to wait a few seconds for Long Shutter NR to finish, then run across the highway with tripod and camera, level the head, guess where to frame and fire. It was moving so slow that I had time to wait for NR (40 sec total) and take another as it burned over the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Incredible luck. And the Aurora was great by Montana standards.

Probably a rocket body reentry...

Could it be the CZ-4B (Long March 4) reentry, that was predicted in late 23th, early 24th ?

Re-entry of 2014-088B / 40363m -- It was stage 3 of the CZ-4B rocket that launched Yaogan Weixing 26 on Dec 27, 2014.

Nice capture of the rocket. I shot it from North Idaho while doing a time-lapse of the Aurora. Your Aurora shot is superb. I wish it would have been that good over here. If you want to see the time-lapse you can check out my Youtube channel. Ill Post it tonight when its done rendering. There are some other Aurora time-lapse videos and one real time video up there now.

I have a question? How can that be the moon when it is not full right now. At least when I looked at it last night it was not full, and you say you took these last night. It looks more like the pictures ive seen posted by an astrophysical scientist, Wael Baseem, who has been posting captured pics of a group of planets that are having a geo-magnetic effect with the sun, earth and any planet in our solar system they get close enough to. I have been a star-gazer since childhood and we do have some very strange things going on at present time. I.E. pole shift,suns acting like its being bothered, and all the earth drastic changes going on.

mothermeha, the moon image is not a full moon. If you understand some about the process and equipment, you will know why it sort of looks full. Too much real cool stuff to see without, you know, embellishment, or wild speculation.

mothermeha the moon was definitely not full. That appearance is the result of a 20 sec exposure at f2.2. Remember I was facing north to get Aurora shots, then wheeled around to get the meteor. I would have stopped my lens down (or decreased the exposure time) to shoot the moon - resulting in a much sharper image - which I actually did later that night.
