Details:
The above images were acquired by my wife and I on a small trip to a mountainous location near Sinaia, Romania. We had the pleasure of observing the comet both with the naked eye, but just barely, at an estimated magnitude of +5.3, and photographically, with a large plasma blob rushing away from the nucleus. My wife image shows the actual extent of the tail, roughly 7 degrees in length, and with a very strange shape compared to previous observations. She used a 100mm Canon lens with a Canon 550D camera at ISO 1600 and 6x4 minute exposures. My setup was the 65mm APO Refractor at F/6.5 and Canon 550D at ISO 3200, 7x5min exposures.
