Details:
It was a marvellously clear night in Churchill, Manitoba though bitterly cold at -30° C. The aurora developed about 9:30 pm local time and filled the sky by 11 pm with a wonderful display, despite all indexes indicating low or quiet activity. Kp Index was 0 to 1 for most of the night! But here in Churchill we are under the aurora oval and see Northern Lights almost every night it is clear. I am attending to a group of aurora tourists here for a week at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre to take in the Lights and Arctic culture.
