Details:
This composite shows Lovejoy on 5 consective nights with near perfect skies. Each night the comet became more visible naked eye although one had to know where to look for it. Its close transit past 2nd magnitude star Almach in Andromeda helped. In binoculars, Lovejoy's tail was visible but considerably shorter than these 20 minute daily exposures reveal. The bottom of this image shows that my final day's capture was not overlapping with previous nights; thus the reason for the darker band. I provided a 2nd image to show more contrast.

Jan, great images, Im in Artesia, NM and was out on Monday, 2/9 south of town and took some pictures (I havent posted any, starting using Lightroom 5, and learning how to use it). The thing I like about your images over others is that you are showing them exactly how the comet in oriented in the night sky. May I ask whay processing software and stacking software you are using. Hope to get out later this week or early next week for more imaging sessions. Dark, cloudless skies to you. Bob
