Details:
Tuesday night, Feb 3, I headed to a viewpoint west of Silver City, New Mexico to shoot the rising Full Moon paired with Jupiter, as both rose into the eastern twilight sky over Silver City. I shot several panoramas, stitching multiple segments together to create wide panoramas showing the pink "Belt of Venus" above the dark blue shadow of the Earth projected onto the atmosphere. Jupiter appears as the bright dot to the left of the Moon. While the February Full Moon has come to be known as the "Snow Moon," there was no snow here! Indeed, today we enjoyed summer-like temperatures. The views show the coppery Moon rising to the left of the vast open pit Santa Rita copper mine.
