Details:
Just managed to capture asteroid 2004 BL86 just few minutes ago during periods of good clearing here in Singapore. It is due for closest approach (at 1619UT) roughly two hours after the time this image was captured (1418UT). It was currently in the constellation of Puppis ("south" of Canis Major) and measures almost 500m across. However, it is still quite dim (pictured here), and the course of this exposure was 2 minutes. But during this time, you can see the traversal course of the asteroid (as a visible faint streak roughly centred). It was to be just 1.2million kilometres from Earth at closest approach. Image captured with 8" astrograph (RH200).
