Details:
With cooperation of the weather and moonrise, I was finally able to make it out to my favorite dark site to photograph comet Lovejoy. As Murphy's law would dictate; the moment I arrived, clouds began to roll in. I was fortunate to get in a few shots before the eleven degree (F) temperatures and cloud cover began to take their toll. This photo was a stack of nine 30 second exposures (Canon T2i, Canon 100 mm f/2 lens @ f/3.2, ISO 1600). It was amazing how easy the comet was to spot with the unaided eye from a dark site.
