Superlatives fail. Thank you for the effort; it paid off.

Amazing photo, one of the best ones in months from the USA. I would appreciate if you didnt shrink the photo so much in the future... Most monitors are now at least 1920 pixels in width. Actually, in a couple years, a lot of monitors will be 3840 pixels in width! I would love to photos of this caliber be my background with little to no quality loss! Thanks

Thank you fmichael and ltparsons for your kind comments. I have been photographing auroras in the pacific northwest for the past six years. The 5-minute K7 display on the morning of the 7th was truly magnificent. The reds were so intense they actually cast a glow. Spaceweather requires me to shrink the size of submitted images. All my original image(s) are shot in RAW/CR2 then converted to .DNG finally to .TIF. However if you would like a larger .jpg-version for strictly personal use, contact me at langello@hotmail.com.
