Details:
C / 2014 Q2 (Lovejoy). Surprising details in the comet tail, despite the extremely difficult conditions. The whole night one cloud was followed by the other. And the light of the nearly full moon (98,4° illuminated) interfered quite strong. The conditions of this night, you can actually see very well in this video. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=969075036439387&set=vb.100000107007390&type=2&theater
Nevertheless, the sky was very transparent in the short gaps between the clouds. In this way, I could select 50 shots of 20 seconds each from over 500 shots (first with the automatic subframe subframe in PixInsight and finally manually). Sony A7s, ISO 3200, Baader contrast booster filter, Hyperstar/Celestron 14" /F1.9, EQ8 mount unguided, flat calibration. Date: 2014_01_04 0:40 - 1:30h UT, FOV: ca 2,9° x 1.6°, Comet ca 40° ALT, Location: Tenerife 1200 meters above sea level. Processed in PixInsight 1.8. Processing together with my daughter Klara Hemmerich
