Spectacular tail movements. Comet 2014/Q2 Lovejoy, December 29th 2014, 23h UT, 12 x 30 sec, contrast booster filter, Sony A7s, modded, uncooled, Hyperstar/Celestron 14", F1.9, EQ8 mount, unguided, darks, flats, bias calibration, processed in PixInsight 1.8, Tenerife south 1200 above sea level. In that night I've captured 484 (until now unprocessed) subframes. Now I need time to realize a movie of this very fast change in the the tail's shape.

Beautiful image Fritz!

I appreciate the Sony A7, as I have been using a Sony NEX5 for 3 1/2 years and produced over 50,000 still images with it.

I am curious as to how you adjusted the tail to the brownish color, also looking forward to seeing your time lapse video as you complete the process. Thanks for any further info.

Yes, why does the ion tail appear brown, when the coma is green. Seems it should be blue. What did you do?
