Details:
This was the big night for comet imagers and viewers alike, to see such a nice comet right on top of a bright but tiny globular cluster low in the south. Captureing this event in a both realistic and morally acceptable manner required multiple images to be combined with 3min set of RGB data for stars and color to add the depth to the comets tail rays. We also went "hog wild" and shot the wider angle stellarvue 80mm as well for a future posting. So here is last nights image. Thanks for looking! Data: 12.5" f/5 Home made newtonian ST10xme CCD camera December 28, 10pm Exposure: 9 mins total Payson,Az
