Details:
Venus and Mercury are back to the evening twilight although still close to the Sun. The images, captured with a Canon Powershot SX60 HS camera around 22:00 UT in a beach resort 100 km east of downtown Rio de Janeiro, show both planets a few minutes before setting. The approximate angular distances to the Sun and altitudes for Venus and Mercury were: 15.6° and 11.3°; 8° and 5°, respectively. Thus, although Bright Venus was a very easy target, capturing also Mercury and the scenery proved quite a bit more challenging.
